What is it about?

In our study, we looked at how well nurses perform their jobs and how it affects the safety of patients in a hospital. We also explored a way to make nurses better at their jobs by managing their knowledge. We found that when nurses received training based on this knowledge management approach, there was an improvement in patient safety. This suggests that regular training for nurses in this method could make hospitals safer for patients. We recommend further research in other hospitals to confirm these findings.

Why is it important?

Our research is unique because it focuses on a specific knowledge management approach called SECI (Socialization, Externalization, Combination, and Internalization) in the context of nursing and patient safety. This approach hasn't been widely explored in nursing research before. The timeliness of our work lies in its relevance to the ongoing efforts to enhance patient safety in healthcare settings. With a growing emphasis on patient outcomes and safety, understanding how nurses' knowledge management can impact patient well-being is crucial. Our findings could make a significant difference by highlighting the importance of knowledge management training for nurses. This information is valuable not only to healthcare practitioners but also to hospital administrators and policymakers who aim to improve patient safety. As a result, our research may attract a wide readership interested in enhancing healthcare quality and patient outcomes.

Perspectives

This publication addresses the crucial link between nursing performance and patient safety, with a focus on the SECI knowledge management approach. It's relevant to healthcare professionals, administrators, and policymakers aiming to enhance patient care. The study underscores the significance of ongoing training and knowledge management in healthcare, offering practical insights for improving patient safety.
