What is it about?

Libraries have to continually tailor their services to better meet the needs of researchers. This paper investigated the level of confidence that librarians working in scholarly communication within Australasia have in their current competencies.

Our findings identified challenges across the sector in updating skills and knowledge to keep abreast of current trends and developments , with implications for improving professional development opportunities. This is important given the evolving nature of research practice and technology.

Perspectives

Hopefully, the sector will actively look at strategies for improving scholarly communication knowledge and skills requirements.
