What is it about?

Inflammation around calving occurs for many reasons. It is a necessary mechanism of defense, but often is excessive. The degree of inflammation after calving is inversely related to health status (clinical and subclinical conditions) and performance of dairy cows. Thus the prompt discover of these events and their attenuation require attention.
