Why is it important?
Widely used blood tests to assess overall thrombotic status use anticoagulated blood and thrombosis is induced by adding chemicals. These tests are not successful to measure overall thrombotic status. The shear-induced test using non-anticoagulated blood has been successful experimentally and clinically.
