What is it about?

In this study, we looked at how nurses in village health posts (Ponkesdes) can provide better healthcare. We found that by focusing on factors like personal qualities, affection for their work, and how they interact with people, we can help these nurses do a better job. This new model can be used to improve healthcare in villages not only in East Java but also in other places with similar programs.

Why is it important?

Our study introduces a groundbreaking model for enhancing rural healthcare through village health posts (Ponkesdes). We blend the Health Promotion Model (HPM) and Health Interaction Model (HIM) with reinforcing factors to emphasize personal qualities, emotional connection, and effective interactions. This innovative approach has the potential to transform healthcare in rural areas, locally and globally. Don't miss this fresh perspective on village nursing.

Perspectives

This publication represents a significant step in improving healthcare delivery in rural areas, specifically through village health posts in East Java. By introducing a novel model that combines established healthcare frameworks with a focus on personal attributes, emotional engagement, and effective interactions, it offers a promising approach to addressing the challenges faced by Ponkesdes nurses. The potential impact of this work extends beyond East Java and could serve as a valuable reference for healthcare programs in similar settings globally. It emphasizes the importance of not only medical knowledge but also the human elements in healthcare delivery, ultimately aiming to enhance the well-being of communities in rural areas.
