What is it about?
Climate and meteorological conditions controls biomass availability and conditions for burning during dry season in Africa. Here, we have investigated the effects of climate (via rainfall and large scale indexes) in biomass burning use in West Africa savannas.

Why is it important?
Biomass burning is a wide spread phenomenon in Africa, at the involving climate, ecology and society. It is important to assess how climate controls biomass availability and how well monitor indexes can help having idea of the quality of fire season (meaning more or less biomass available for burning).
