What is it about?
Meningitis is a devastating infection. Most cases are epidemic. However In some cases infection can spread from the nasopharynx along the eustachian tube through an anomalous inner ear to the subarachnoid space. A high index of suspicion should be maintained especially if the patient has single sided deafness since early childhood. Radiological évaluation of the inner ear is a must
