Why is it important?
The expression 'graphic memory' ('memória gráfica', 'memoria gráfica') has been used more and more frequently in Latin America, with slightly different meanings. This article is a first attempt of a definition of what 'graphic memory' stands for, and how it relates to design history. It is of special interest for students and researchers of graphic design, visual and print culture in Latin America and in non-hegemonic countries.
