What is it about?
This study demonstrated that university students have various misunderstandings within the context of their own studies, ranging from nonprecise use of terminology to systemic misconceptions. It was also shown that the study progress of first year students be predicted already in the beginning of their studies based on a relatively simple multiple-choice test.

Why is it important?
The study progress of university students is a matter of concern in most western countries and increasing our understanding on factors affecting it is important to promote graduation in expected time.
Perspectives
Having taught first year Pharmacy students for several years, it was great to contribute to this study to place the everyday observations into a scientifically solid theoretical framework.
