What is it about?

This case on the internationalisation of the restaurant sub-sector of the food industry beyond the shores of Nigeria was couched upon a broad review of the literature and content analysis of media reports, and the narrative weaved together to provide teaching and research implications for ethnic food marketing. Three countries in particular are touched upon: the UK (the United Kingdom), the UAE (United Arab Emirates) and Rwanda.

The Creative Africa Nexus Weekend (CANEX WKND) October 16–19, 2024, at SAFEX in Algiers, Algeria — at the behest of the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank), in partnership with the African Union Commission (AUC), the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) Secretariat featured cuisine/ Gastronomy as a key pillar.

Perspectives

Nigerian restaurants and cuisine are making waves globally but the former is not quite in sync with the latter. Will the real Nigerian global restaurant please stand up?
