What is it about?
This chapter, in the book titled 'School-Based Family Counseling for Crisis and Disaster' (ISBN 9781003201977), outlines the narrative approach to counselling. In it I have focused on reducing the harm of relational aggression and bullying and refer the reader to a range of resources.

Why is it important?
At school, relational aggression and bullying is often cleverly hidden from adults. This increases the loneliness and harm experienced by children who are targeted, because it distances them from a safe base of support. Through deep listening the narrative approach can provide a secure base for children, inviting strength and hope and providing a scaffold as they problem solve towards a new story.
