What is it about?

The chapter emphasizes the relevance of Holocaust remembrance and studies for India, and laments the absence of Holocaust education in the country. It brings into sharp focus the widespread ignorance of the Holocaust and Jewish history in India. It draws our attention to how India responded to the Holocaust and at the same time identifies Holocaust denial and trivialization as some of the important challenges for raising Holocaust awareness in India. It also makes suggestions as to how to overcome those challenges, and updates us on the current state of Holocaust education at the tertiary level in India.
