What is it about?

Innovative tests using non-anticoagulated blood enable prevention of heart attack and stroke.

Why is it important?

It is widely believed that intake of fruits, vegetables and physical exercise is beneficial to prevent the diseases. In many countries recommendation for an antithrombotic diet and adequate physical exercise has been proposed by the relevant health authorities. But exercise has been debated on ‘exercise paradox’ or ‘double-edged sword’. Innovative tests could give the answer.

Perspectives

Shear-induced Global Thrombosis Test or Global Parallel-Plate Thrombosis Test using non-anticoagulated blood can select antithrombotic fruit and vegetable varieties and can avoid ‘exercise paradox’ by assessing thrombotic status of individuals.
