What is it about?

This is a teaching case that encourages students to think about the ethics of legalizing and prescribing cannabis from the perspectives of various stakeholders, including health care practitioners, businesses, and others. After reading the case, students can have better informed discussions about the legalization of cannabis.

Why is it important?

With more countries around the world changing their cannabis regulations, what can be learned from Canada's experience? Why do some groups oppose the legalization of cannabis while others fully support it?

Perspectives

After writing a couple of cases about Canadian cannabis firms, I wanted to explore the controversy surrounding the legalization of medical and recreational cannabis. Why wasn't everyone getting onboard? What were the concerns of the various stakeholders in Canada?
