What is it about?

The composition of the nutrient media (basal salts, organic components, and growth regulators) is a major factor influencing the regeneration frequency of rice. This paper examines the effect of some organic nitrogen sources such as glutamine, tryptophan and casein hydrolysate on the tissue culture of rice.

Why is it important?

Our findings confirm the requirement of specific amino acids for specific events in particular genotypes during in vitro morphogenesis. Additionally, they show the significant effect of these nutritional supplements especially casein hydrolysate on improving both callus induction rate and regeneration frequency of rice.

Perspectives

I am very proud of this article as it led me to obtain a national rice project.
