What is it about?
In this study, we investigated the natural compounds found in three wetland plants - Hanguana malayana, Ludwigia adscendens, and Monochoria hastata. We looked at 10 different extracts from different parts of these plants to see if they had antioxidant, anti-lipoxygenase, and iron chelating properties. We also examined how these properties were related to the natural compounds in the plants.

Why is it important?
Our study found that certain wetland plants, such as Hanguana malayana, Ludwigia adscendens, and Monochoria hastata, contain phytochemicals that have health benefits. These plants have antioxidant properties and can help regulate blood sugar levels, and even chelate iron in the body.
