Why is it important?

Friction Welding (FW) is a solid state welding process which produces less defects compared to many of the fusion welding processes. Though many of the defects are sorted out, it is important to know the relevant process parameters that suits the optimum working condition which can be attained by using Response Surface Methodology (RSM) and it can be justified by metallurgical characterization.
