What is it about?
Flow forming is an emerging near net shape process. This review is a first attempt of gathering all the available literature knowledge about the process. All the different investigations approach were examined (analytical, numerical and experimental). A complete review about flow forming prediction models has been developed. Flow forming prediction models include prediction of product final geometry, product micro-structure (final and its effects), process stress/strains evolution and failure.

Why is it important?
We collect all the different Design of Experiments approach to flow forming. This is important for selecting the right approach to process optimization. Analyzing the literature, the effect of process parameters on forming forces components and forming power have been deducted and listed. Similarly, influences of process parameters on defects and geometrical inaccuracies have been extrapolated. Our table is important for understating how to minimize flow forming defects.
