What is it about?
This survey study of 220 students shows the many and diverse ways in which they practice English informally online in their everyday lives. It shows that contrary to expectations, students use almost all language skills except speaking online.

Why is it important?
As the first study into the Online Informal Learning of English (OILE), this study opened a new field of investigation for Applied Linguistics researchers. It established a baseline regarding practices in a French context.
