What is it about?
It is argued that the Quaker business method is a product of an evolutionary process that has found a set of tools that may support decision making. The efficacy of each tool can be examined in terms of established theories in cognitive science (the science of human information processing), in order to judge whether they might support or hinder the process of decision making.

Why is it important?
1) Provides a novel scientific approach to assess whether decision making methods are likely to be effective by examining the cognitive processes underpinning them. 2) Provides a novel method for testing whether the products and processes of a business method are likely to be moral.
