What is it about?

The current debate about assisted dying is hindered by four blind spots: the sanctity of life, the spookiness of death, the cult of technology and the tension between ethics and law.

Why is it important?

An overwhelming majority of the public believes British law on assisted dying needs to be changed. Opposition is led by religious leaders, so it is important to present theological arguments in favour of change.

Perspectives

This is a philosophical reflection on the ethics of assisted dying, in the context of a special issue which looks at the question from .a variety of perspectives.
