What is it about?
Introduction of vaccines to new diseases has always been a critical issue especially in African contexts. This article therefore used principles from Health Psychology in exploring how the general populace in Zimbabwe reacted towards COVID-19 vaccines. In particular, the Health Belief Model's constructs were presented to explain how it could have been used to predict health related behaviours of Zimbabweans in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Why is it important?
The article helps in portraying how health practitioners can espouse theory and practice in understanding illness. This commentary clearly linked the model to what was happening during the pandemic.
Perspectives
When I wrote this article I was so thrilled at how the constructs of the health belief model helped me to gain a better understanding of predicting people's reactions towards introduction of new vaccines. I can relate to some of the points expressed in the article.
