Why is it important?

The work done in this paper highlights the possibility of studying and analyzing the socio-political conditions of post-Soviet nations within postcolonial frameworks. In doing so, the paper explores the Eurocentric definitions of postcoloniality and the reluctance of academics from Eastern Europe in engaging in postcolonial analysis for the very same Eurocentric biases.

Perspectives

This paper was a way to engage with the Western dominated definitions of postcoloniality. It was possible to make a comparison between what is considered postcolonial and why the definitions have not regularly applied to the nations of Eastern Europe.
