Why is it important?
Cyclodextrin derivatives - sugammadex (Bridion®), per-6-thioureido, per-6-alkylthioether, per-6-azido -, of practical importance were synthesized.
Perspectives
Eliminating the high boiling solvents makes the synthesis not only greener but the simpler workup - no removal of the solvents - is more economic. The lack of solvents can also reduce the number and amounts of byproducts.
