What is it about?
The conjunctival epithelial cells are frequently required for ocular surface research related to inflammation, wound healing, toxicity etc. We compare the gene expression patterns of 2 different conjunctival epithelial cell lines, primary conjunctival cell cultures to native conjunctival tissues. An unrelated epithelial cell line is used as control.

Why is it important?
Depending on the purpose of the study, different conjunctival cell lines may be used instead of primary conjunctival epithelial cells.
