What is it about?
Given the extent of competition between venues for leisure-time on weekends among young adults, this paper begins to explore the idea that, even during the winter low-season, thoroughbred horseracing events still manage to attract a portion of the 18-30 year-old market, in spite of numerous entertainment options available to them. This is especially unusual, given that in the case of New Zealand, the venue facilities reflect the qualities of a pre-1980's era.
