What is it about?
Kuwait is a small wealthy country with a young population. However, rates of diabetes, high blood pressure, smoking, and obesity, are high. These conditions leads to high rates of chronic kidney disease, which leads to kidney failure and the need for dialysis. That is why the number of patients on dialysis in Kuwait is growing. The government provides dialysis for free for Kuwaitis and certain other groups. However, most foreign nationals, who form the majority of the population, are not allowed free access to dialysis.
