Targeting Senescent Cells as Therapy for Chronic Kidney Disease

What is it about?

There is increasing evidence that senescent cells within the kidney drive the progression of chronic kidney disease. This review summarises the current evidence for treatments designed to modify or clear senescent cells from the kidney - and highlights key unanswered questions for the field in order to move treatments from the laboratory to the clinic.
