What is it about?

This is a study showing a basis for the host range determinat of dog and human viruses (distemper and measles viruses).

Why is it important?

Canine distemper virus (CDV) and measles virus (MV) are closely related to each other and highly contagious and deadly to dogs and humans, respectively. Many reports suggest the potential expansion of the host range of CDV to varieties of animals,, but not yet to humans.

Perspectives

Detailed analysis provides deep insights into the host specificity and potential host expansion of these viruses.
