Why is it important?
The instrument described in the article is unique (and patented). Although experimental, it has been used in several monitoring scenarios, from high elevation sites to sea level, including large engineering works proving its reliability in terms of measurement quality and robustness. Additionally, the use of a single probe makes it independent of the length of the tube and its modularity allows its installation in less than 6 hours.
