What is it about?

Speckle filters are an important tools in image processing. Many of them have been proposed in the literature, as well as performance measures. We propose a quantitative assessment of such filters through the analysis of the residual noise.

Why is it important?

Instead of measuring the performance of speckle filters by many measures, we propose a single value that is able to quantify the quality of the result.

Perspectives

This is one of my favourite works, as it is solely based on image processing and the statistics properties of speckle noise.
