Lipoprotein lipase is overexpressed in low risk CLL. Here, we review current knowledge and hypotheses on the topic, and propose future paths which this research line may take.

Why is it important?

LPL expression in CLL is associated with a poor clinical outcome. The reasons why are is still unknown, but some evidence suggest different roles that LPL may take in leukemic cells which may provide an explanation.
