What is it about?

In this paper, we introduce three kinds of desk-top biofilm reactors. All of them can accelerate the production of biofilms on materials artificially. However, they all have their advantages and disadvantages. We compare them each other in this paper.

Why is it important?

We live daily lives with Corona or after Corona. We are very nervous and cautious about infection. Biofilm control is an essential key for us to protecting us from it. It affected not only disease but also many industrial problems such as corrosion, scale problems, hygiene deterioration, heat exchange decreasing, etc. To establish effective countermeasures, we have to produce biofilms on a laboratory scale artificially and check the problems in laboratories. Then this paper will provide you with lots of helpful information.

Perspectives

Now SIAA, a Japanese industrial, non-profit organization, will establish a new ISO for evaluating antibiofilm materials under the lead and guidance of the Japanese government. In such a movement, acceleration biofilm reactors will be much more critical for materials developers and general users of industrial products.
