What is it about?
We report the first case of a COVID-19 patient with a spontaneous rectal perforation. SARS-CoV-2 affects the enterocytes and the vascular system of the gut. Abdominal complications should be suspected according to clinical signs and symptoms in order to obtain a prompt diagnosis.
