What is it about?
This paper compared the performance of CHP and CCHP systems on an existing UK Hilton. Based on the findings it was concluded that a CHP system should be incorporated in a building with considerable heating demand and moderate/ no cooling demand. Meanwhile, a CCHP system will be more appropriate in applications with considerable heating and cooling demands, and it is essential that the cooling demand is not omitted. The baseline model was validated with the actual building data to substantiate the accuracy of the generated model. The performance gap achieved between simulated and actual energy consumption was 10%.
