What is it about?
Climate change poses a significant threat to various sectors, including agriculture, affecting men and women unevenly. In adoption literature, perception is known to influence uptake innovation. Climate change adaption is no exception. Cowpea and beans are crops that are vulnerable to climate variability. Women farmers dominate in the production of these crops and so how do they perceive climate change? And how are they adapting to climate variability as regards cowpea and beans production?

Why is it important?
Our findings revealed that socioeconomic and institutional factors significantly influenced the choice of adaptation strategies, with notable differences between men and women. Higher levels of education, farming experience, marital status, access to credit, and education determined the choice of adaptation strategies.
