What is it about?

. In 2014, we were the first group to report a new model for autism based on dietary manipulation (zinc deficiency) of pregnant mice (Grabrucker et al., 2014, Brain). In this study, we provide a mechanistic explanation for the behaviour from a synaptic dysfunction that leads to altered connectivity, which results in abnormal lateralisation of the brain, up to the behavioural features arising from this.
