Perspectives

Rebamipide ophthalmic suspension is a Japanese eye drop for dry eye that has a very good clinical efficacy. However, only a small percentage of patients with collagen diseases develop dacryocystitis, as described in this paper. In the future, further development of basic research is awaited to determine the mechanism by which lacrimal sac stones are formed.
