What is it about?

DMSPS and DVB components, examined for their morphological, textural and structural properties. The aim was to assess the effect of the reaction mixture composition on the features of nanocomposites and their potential as sorbents for binding organic compounds.

Why is it important?

It is important in this work to investigate the effect of the reaction composition on the morphological, textural and chemical properties of DMSPS-co-DVB nanomaterials, which can help to optimize their use as sorbents. Particular attention was paid to the presence of thiol groups, which can increase the ability of these materials to bind pollutants, i.e. organic substances or heavy metals. The conducted studies, such as SAXS, SEM and FTIR, provide a comprehensive analysis of the structure and sorption efficiency of nanocomposites.

Perspectives

Future research may focus on optimizing the composition of the reaction mixture of DMSPS-co-DVB nanomaterials to increase their efficiency as sorbents in removing specific pollutants. Additionally, further work may investigate the possibilities of using these nanocomposites in purifying water and wastewater from hazardous substances.
