What is it about?

This paper evaluates the various fabrication techniques for dry Ag/AgCl for wearable technologies. It also measures and compares the performance of the Ag/AgCl electrodes from each technique and from a commercial wet Ag/AgCl which is considered a gold standard.

Why is it important?

Wet Silver/Silver Chloride (Ag/AgCl) is widely used in clinical and research applications to record the electrical signals from the body. However, wet Ag/AgCl uses conductive gell and dries over time, making it unsuitable for long-term recording. As the wearable technologies increase, there is a greater need for suitable performing electrodes for long-term recording. Dry Ag/AgCl electrodes are suitable for long-term recording because it does not require a wet gell. This paper evaluates the fabrication methods for Dry Ag/AgCl electrodes for wearable technologies and their performances in wearable applications.
