Featured Image

Why is it important?

Our finding show the pathway how PPR virus got entry in this Island as well as gave suggestion in regard to border security during animal tresspass in the country

Perspectives

Saint Martin`s island is located at the southern part of Bangladesh and surrounded by Bay of Bengal, no direct communication neither with Mainland Bangladesh nor neighbour country India or Myanmar, but goat population was found seropositive to PPR antibodies. The finding is important from the epidemiological point of view as PPR is endemic in Bangladesh since 1993
