What is it about?
Prolonged high-fat diet consumption was reported to cause metabolic disorders. We demonstrated that Aloe vera gel regulated liver function and prevents hyperlipidemia in mice with increased antioxidant activities thereby preventing liver injury.

Why is it important?
We evaluated the benefits of Aloe vera supplementation in high-fat diet-fed mice. Our findings suggest that Aloe vera prevents cholesterol, and triglyceride accumulation as well as enhances catalase and superoxide dismutase activities. Hence, it could be used as a natural remedy for preventing metabolic disorders.
