What is it about?
We tested the ability of different tau PET thresholds, in different areas of the brain, to predict cognitive decline over time. We also tested the performance of these same thresholds to predict cognitive decline in the proposed new multi-level staging for Alzheimer's disease.

Why is it important?
Tau accumulates in Alzheimer's disease and is associated with short term clinical progression and faster rates of cognitive decline. We need to determine the best threshold of tau accumulation to predict cognitive decline.
