Why is it important?

While the articles in this special issue are worthy of consultation, this editorial synthesizes the content. It groups the articles by topic area: two from keynotes, three in anthropometry, four relating to communication, evolution and progress of four particular International Ergonomics Technical Committeees, effects of Covid-19 is addressed in three articles, five article address industrial or manufacturing environments, and Organizational Design and Management is the focus of four articles.

Perspectives

It was both a challenge and a pleasure to synthesize the diverse contents of this special issue into one summary text. As I did so, I realized how much commonality exists despite wide ranging geographical, temporal and work or communication-focus perspectives. It speaks well of the authors and the International Ergonomics Association's triennial world congress series itself.
