What is it about?

The division of labour between workers and machines is called into question as technological advances offer new possibilities for workplace automation. This article examines how the human-machine configurations call for the experience of the senses, at the material-corporeal level.

Why is it important?

Our findings reveal how experienced workers, in their relationship with automated machines, mobilise embodied reference points of know-how. By trying to describe and understand them, our research could provide important clues to develop a reference tool for training new workers in the cork industry.
