What is it about?

Blueberry juice production in Chile and other countries generates large volumes of a valuable solid waste: pomase, which contain the skin, seeds and other parts of the fruit. each one of them has valuable nutrients and bioactive compounds such as protein, lipids, fiver and antixidant polyphenols. In this work we were able to find the optimun condicitons to extracte large percentages of the polyphenols available in this waste material

Why is it important?

The results obtained show that the combined extraction method studied allows to obtai high concentration of plyphenol that are stable for furhther usa

Perspectives

Under the conditions optimized it is possible to obtain an ingredient that could be used to formulate juices, candies, nutritional supplements aand other commercial products
