What is it about?

The paper explores the FAIR (Findability, Accessibility, Interoperability and Reusability) Hourglass Model and how nanopublications can be used to expand the interoperability of a project and how its data units can be prepared to interface with the Internet of FAIR Data and Services (IFDS).

Why is it important?

With the growth of the Internet of FAIR Data and Services (IFDS), it is important to establish an agreed-upon minimum standard for data units that will be exchanged between researchers, users and services so that anyone can make use of everything in the IFDS without concerns for interoperability. This paper explores nanopublications as a possible way of achieving this and a possible implementation design in an international healthcare project.
