What is it about?

People with jaw joint and head&neck posture problems may be affected in terms of body balance, sense of position and overall body. In such problems, it is useful to follow a more holistic treatment approach instead of focusing only on the jaw joint or neck area. For this reason, the upper back region (scapulothoracic region) should be included in the treatment programmes, especially due to its close proximity to these regions.

Why is it important?

In musculoskeletal system problems, full efficiency cannot be achieved with only problem-focused treatments. Therefore, a holistic and individual approach should be applied in treatment.

Perspectives

In recent years, the underlying mechanism of many problems and their different connections in the body have been ignored. This issue causes clinical problem-solving skills to become difficult and patient satisfaction to decrease. To prevent this, a biopsychosocial approach and a holistic perspective are required in the treatment of patients.
