What is it about?

Gamma Knife radiosurgery is a very simple and safe treatment, the patients do not suffer problems after the procedure and the improve after several months. the changes induced by the treatment are "modulatory" and not lesional. The aim of the treatment consist consists of blocking certain limbic system pathways so that the frontal lobe works correctly

Why is it important?

OCD a is very severe disease and usually dose not improve with medical treatment, we are giving a solution to these patients. Both from the medical and social point of view, this treatment is really important.

Perspectives

This is the first publication of a series about our experience with OCD, in the near future we'll describe the studies and results of tractography in these patients and the follow up with functional MRI. In the near future no least than 20% of these patients will benefit of this therapy.
