What is it about?
For the most common lumbar degenerative level, L4/5, we compared clinical and functional outcomes of two different surgical treatments, dynamic stabilization system (Dynesys), and minimal invasive transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion (MI-TLIF).

Why is it important?
For patients with L4/5 grade I spondylolisthesis, the clinical and functional outcomes of dynamic stabilization system were similar to that of MI-TLIF. It means the dynamic stabilization system may be an alternative to standard arthrodesis in mild lumbar degenerative disease.
